Rackspace is proud to announce an important event in our company's history. Since 1998, we have focused on being the hosting specialist providing
solid infrastructure and Fanatical Support® to our customer's web applications. Recently, our customers have been asking us to host their email
services, including Managed Microsoft Exchange and Noteworthy Managed Mail outside of a standard hosting contract.
So today, we are excited to announce our recent acquisition of Webmail.us, a world-class business mail service provider, to expand and strengthen
our successful mail portfolio and to lead us into delivering more IT services for our customers. We want to be the leader in offering hosted IT
services to our customers and mail is our first step to help businesses offload the burden of backend management so they can focus on their core
business.
Webmail.us has worked with us for the last two years as a customer and as a partner to offer our customers Noteworthy® managed mail service —
we think they are just as committed to customer service as we are! This is a great thing for all of us because our customers will reap the benefits of
a strengthened mail offering while we deepen our core IT hosting business.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is Rackspace announcing today with Webmail.us?
As part of our focus on providing a comprehensive mail platform and related services to companies of all sizes, Rackspace has acquired
Webmail.us, a leading provider of business-class email services to small, medium, and geographically dispersed companies. Rackspace's
acquisition of Webmail.us is an example of our commitment to offering a suite of hosted IT services that are more reliable and provide
better value than traditional IT.
2. There are a number of mail providers out there — why did Rackspace choose Webmail.us?
We have been working with Webmail.us for two years now — hosting their email infrastructure in our data centers and also reselling
their email services as our own Noteworthy mail offering. Webmail.us is a world-class development shop with more than half of its staff
made up of software developers. Acquiring Webmail.us and its talent was a strategic step for us to becoming a leader in hosted mail.
3. Will the acquisition of Webmail.us affect Fanatical Support?
No, Rackspace's commitment to Fanatical Support is stronger than ever! Fanatical Support is our mission; it is our core values; it is
the heart of Rackspace.
Rackspace and Webmail.us have been partners for more than two years now, and we think Webmail.us is as Fanatical as we are. Together,
we will strengthen Rackspace's existing mail offering while remaining fully committed to our customers.
As a Rackspace customer, Webmail has been on the receiving end of Fanatical Support for years, and they've seen the difference it makes
with our customers. In an industry where Webmail has competed against purportedly "free" and "low-cost" technology companies, they, too,
have differentiated their business by focusing on service. Their service efforts align with ours — they provide live support 24/7/365,
immediate responses to customer ticket inquiries, a transition team to help new customers get started and much more. We wouldn't have it any
other way.
4. How will this acquisition align with your current mail offerings?
Rackspace has been re-selling Webmail.us as Noteworthy for two years. Noteworthy is the largest product in our mail portfolio, and it will
gain even more traction as Webmail.us aligns with Rackspace.
Our Managed Microsoft Exchange offering will remain a strong and fast-growing piece to our mail portfolio.
5. How will Rackspace's customers benefit from this announcement?
The acquisition of Webmail.us deepens our hosting expertise with the addition of email hosting. Webmail.us is world-class in mail service
development with more than half of its staff made up of developers. Therefore, in the near future, customers will have access to even better
services and mail features from Rackspace. This move will expand our hosting expertise in a number of hosted IT services including back end
management.
6. Does this mean Rackspace is moving away from being a hosting specialist?
No. We have offered world-class hosting services for web applications for the last eight years. We want to provide even more valued services
to our customers and want to launch a number of hosted IT services that will enable our customers to offload the back end management and
focus on their core business. Mail is our first step in our overall IT hosting strategy.
7. Will I have a new team for my email?
No, your Managed Mail team will remain the same.
8. Will the acquisition affect Rackspace pricing?
No, pricing will remain the same.
9. Will Rackspace maintain Webmail.us's existing management team?
Webmail.us has a strong leadership team that will remain fully intact. CEO Pat Matthews will run the Mail division of Rackspace reporting
directly to our CEO Lanham Napier.
10. Are all Webmail.us employees now "Rackers"?
Yes! Webmail.us is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Rackspace Managed Hosting, and therefore, Rackspace is welcoming 60 new Rackers to our
family.
11. Will Rackspace keep the Webmail.us name?
The Webmail.us name will remain the same for now, but this is a work in progress. We will announce any possible name changes down the road.
